the annapurna circuit trekking journal

i wasn't about to let my journal/picture a day project die off on the trek, so i bought this little journal from one of the paper shops here in kathmandu before leaving. the paper is handmade by women in nepal from lokta bark.

turns out we had lots of down time on the trek {i read three books} and filled this entire journal with silly little sketches/ notes in just two weeks.

the majority of the sketches are of gompas, mountains, and waterfalls! the scenery was beyond inspiring.

the portfolio {revealed}

Here's a sample for you. Although this seems simple and straightforward, this portfolio was surprisingly time consuming. Now that it is all over, I can say that I enjoyed the process {especially sorting through stacks of old work under beds, in closets, etc.} and look forward to one day creating a real and much more impressive selection of my work.

Who knows what my life will look like a few years from now!

Most of these were in the running, but ultimately it came down to other ones {to be shared later}. Every time I look at these, my mind is flooded with memories of that moment. . . You know, the moment surrounding that split-second shot. . . Memories from Peru, India, Charleston, NYC, Albemarle, etc. . . At this point in my life, this is what I want to do for the rest of my life! I still have so much to learn, but I love it all. . .
