the annapurna circuit trekking journal

i wasn't about to let my journal/picture a day project die off on the trek, so i bought this little journal from one of the paper shops here in kathmandu before leaving. the paper is handmade by women in nepal from lokta bark.

turns out we had lots of down time on the trek {i read three books} and filled this entire journal with silly little sketches/ notes in just two weeks.

the majority of the sketches are of gompas, mountains, and waterfalls! the scenery was beyond inspiring.

most of the time, i draw whatever is directly in front of me. . . then i'm done for the day.

In color

Because most of my sketches are done at random times/random places, many of them are black and white either pen or pencil. These are different, and I actually had colored pencils and pens with me.

I still cannot believe it has been a year and almost two months now! I have not missed a single day.
