thinking of pipe village

the other afternoon i pulled out my guache and pastel paper and went to town painting this little scene from pipe village {hyderabad, india}.

at one point, this picture was the header to my other blog here.

after a long painting session, i always end up with leftover paint. i typically try to save it all in a plastic palatte that can be frozen, but i recently have been using the remaining paint to paint thumbnail pictures.

the last image shows my plans for paintings to come and paintings to finish {soon!}.

recent work

some of these are still works in progress, but i have made up my mind to finish these before i leave in january!

also, i have plans for several new paintings. i spent a good amount of money on brand new {massive} canvases and justified my purchases because my teachers always said i had to work bigger to get any better {see pic no. 2}.
